The annual Tickle Swim for Mental Health will be back again this September.
The fundraiser, which is in its 10th year, challenges participants both mentally and physically as they swim from Portugal Cove-St. Phillips to Bell Island, a total of 5 km.
Swimmers will be accompanied by a support kayaker while going across, and a safety boat will also be on hand to make sure participants are safe.
The aim of the swim is to promote the connection between mental and physical health, raise awareness about mental health, and raise funds to support the Canadian Mental Health Association.
This year’s swim will take place on September 17, with an alternate date of September 18.
