The CDC announced its launch of a new webpage housing materials for health care professionals as part of the agency’s Hear Her campaign to reduce pregnancy-related deaths, according to a press release.
According to the release, more than 700 women die each year due to pregnancy-related complications. Health care professionals play a ‘critical role’ in reducing these deaths, of which two in three are considered preventable.
Health care professionals — including obstetric, pediatric and ED staff — will have access to posters, palm cards, sample social media content and graphics in English and Spanish to share with their patients.
The new webpage will also have clinical resources and educational tools from organizations such as ACOG and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses to support professionals in their care of prenatal and postpartum patients.
