SIKESTON First Baptist Church in Sikeston will host an Ol Fashion Singin to connect the community spiritually and raise money for Missouri Disaster Relief.
The event will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. at the church, located at 1101 N. Main St.
This is an event that brings back the congregational hymn sing, said Perry Harper, new music minister at FBC. A gathering of worshippers singing in the southern gospel style.
Many musicians and singers from different churches in the area are expected to take part in the free event. A love offering will be held during the service that will benefit Missouri Disaster Relief.
Missouri Disaster Relief is an amazing organization that has helped so many, Harper said. Many of the team members have helped as recently as the tornadoes that swept through this area and Kentucky. They are quick to help those effected by disaster and tragedy. They have provided food, cleanup, showers, and general help in time of need.
FBC pastor Mathew Vroman said he is hoping many in the community will attend the event.
Let me tell you, do not miss, Vroman said. It will be an incredible night.
FBC church member Gary Noiseworthy is excited for the event.
Spirituality uplifting in many ways, Noiseworthy said, describing the event. A special opportunity to participate in the worship of our Heavenly Father through singing, listening, praising and prayers. An opportunity to come together as the family of God to reflect and give thanks for His love, forgiveness and our salvation through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus. A time to come together to open hearts and minds to Gods everlasting love.
